Adaptive leadership in complex times
Canada’s health system is changing faster than ever before. This unprecedented – and unrelenting – transformation demands strong leadership and collaboration across teams, organizations and jurisdictions. The National Health Leadership Conference (NHLC) is the rallying point for health leaders to learn about best practices, connect with colleagues from across Canada facing similar challenges and gear up to deliver innovative solutions that improve patient-centred care.
• Leading in a system under transformation: What is needed for health leaders to effectively lead and to achieve the desired system transformation in Canada?
• Strengthening leadership qualities: How can health leaders be at the same time responsive, adaptive and innovative when faced with new constraints, demands and challenges? How can leadership be enhanced, structured and distributed for improved outcomes for patients, communities and health systems?
• Integrating and engaging patients in system transformation: How can health leaders partner with patients, families and communities to co-design a patient-centred health system and enable health system transformation?
• Cultivating emerging leaders: How can we collectively build, support and develop the next generation of transformational leaders that will drive health system transformation? Today’s health leaders must constantly adapt to an array of complex and uncertain conditions.
Today’s health leaders must constantly adapt to an array of complex and uncertain conditions.
